It’s a very delicate mindset balance of being real with adversities, while simultaneously smiling through them. Very few people get this correct, and the result of that is often unnecessary negative feelings, inauthentic feelings, and a weakened resolve among other outcomes. Think about where you are on the spectrum:
When something bad happens – Are you overly on one side where you cry about it, are vulnerable, see the situation for the dreadful situation it is on the surface and see nothing else AND remain down constantly through the thunderstorm …. OR are you on the other side overly smiling through it, shielding your eyes from the pain & authentic emotions, laughing through the storm without really doing much to get out of the storm, and falsely seeing sunlight when it is not really there? Those are the two extremes, so most likely you are somewhere in the middle. The formula of where to be only God knows for certain, but as a human being you & myself are free to share our perspectives on it …
My perspective is this: The ideal mindset to have is a real mindset where you see the storm, cry in the storm, don’t ignore the storm, and stay honest about the raw emotions you are experiencing AND at the same time, you also see the opportunities in the storm when they arise, both to dance in the storm & to find your way out of the storm. And your smiles & laughter do not come from laughing at the storm but instead laughing with the storm; thereby weakening the storm’s effect on you and strengthening your effect on the storm’s movement to a different territory. It’s all very abstract because that’s how the mind is, and that’s why it’s a secret only He knows and not he or she knows. And what do I know? Who knows? I don’t know. Maybe you know though.
Think about it though.
